Meet the Team


Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) is a youth-led and refugee-led social enterprise based in Cox's Bazar working in the Rohingya coordination as well as with the Internally Displaced Population across Bangladesh. The core team of HAP consists of youth social entrepreneurs who act as representatives of their own community.

Shafiqur Rahman

Dedicating his career to humanitarian work, with a particular focus on the Rohingya refugee community in Bangladesh, his journey began in education, but the influx of Rohingya refugees following renewed violence in Myanmar led him to a pivotal role in providing essential services and support to this vulnerable population. Through his leadership in various humanitarian organizations and his contributions to research and advocacy, He has played a significant role in addressing the complex needs of the Rohingya community and raising global awareness of their plight.

Highlights

Worked with international organizations and government agencies to address the needs of the Rohingya community, overseeing projects related to education, health, livelihood, and construction.

Conducted research on the mental health of Rohingya refugees, contributing to academic publications and raising awareness about their challenges. He has also been active in human rights advocacy, working with organizations like Fortify Rights, UN Human Rights and Amnesty International to document the voices of the Rohingya community.

Covered the Rohingya crisis for news outlets like the Associated Press and played a critical role as a Line Producer, secondary cameraman, and translator in the documentary “A Dream Called Khushi (Happiness),” further shedding light on the experiences and aspirations of the Rohingya community. The documentary was also nominated as a finalist in the Student Academy Awards.


Md. Fakruhddin

A dynamic leader with a passion for community development. As the Co-founder & CEO of HAP Services, he oversees a diverse range of projects that empower individuals and promote sustainable practices. Based at Cox's Bazar, his responsibilities include managing financial operations, leading Digital Learning initiatives, and overseeing livelihood programs in Bangladesh which plays a vital role in driving the growth and success of HAP.

Experienced in managing and implementing various projects, particularly in the fields of digital education, women's empowerment, and humanitarian aid with the Bihari community in Bangladesh

Strong track record of successfully overseeing projects, from initial planning to execution and evaluation, community engagement and livelihoods with the Rohingya community and Host community

Immad Ahmed

A distinguished humanitarian, working as an Advisor at HAP with a wealth of experience in the development and humanitarian sectors, particularly in addressing complex challenges like climate change, conflict, and economic instability. His expertise in human-centered design (HCD) and design thinking has enabled him to develop innovative solutions and empower communities to find impactful responses to crises.

Highlights

A strong track record of working in humanitarian crises, including significant involvement in the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh and projects in South Sudan.

Commitment to empowering communities led him to establish this youth-led social enterprise (HAP) focused on climate change resilience.

Has an extensive consulting experience with UN agencies and stakeholders, particularly in South Sudan. His consultancy work has revolved around designing and implementing community-led interventions that prioritize resilience-building.
